Environment and Infrastructure
Puerto de la Cruz is located at the foot of the Orotava Valley, which rises from the Atlantic Ocean to the Teide Volcano. The city took its origin as the port of La Orotava, the first Spanish settlement on Tenerife. Today, as the tourist center of the north coast of Tenerife, the town offers every conceivable amenity and is therefore still a sought-after location on Tenerife.
With Playa Jardin and Playa de Martianez, Puerto de la Cruz has two centrally located beaches. Playa Bolullo is also a special jewel. For sports outside the water, there is the golf course La Rosaleda. Certainly one of the most important man-made attractions of the Canary Islands is the Loro Park.
