Environment and Infrastructure
Puerto de la Cruz is located at the foot of the Orotava Valley, which rises from the Atlantic Ocean to the Teide Volcano. The city originated as the port of La Orotava, the first Spanish settlement on Tenerife. Today, as the tourist center of the north coast of Tenerife, the city offers every conceivable amenity and is therefore still a sought-after location in Tenerife.
Certainly one of the most important man-made attractions of the Canary Islands is the Loro Park. There you can find the largest collection of parrots and penguins in the world, but also other animals such as apes, dolphins and the huge seawater aquarium can be marveled at.
