Environment and Infrastructure

The property is located in the idyllic village of Rakotule, a suburb of Motovun. Motovun, a village and municipality in the heart of Istria, is a place of great historical significance, with origins dating back to Celtic and Illyrian fortresses. Its name, derived from Montona, means "a town on the hills."

Motovun itself is a medieval town situated on the site of an ancient city called Castellieri. It sits on a hill 270 meters above sea level and offers unique views of the four corners of Istria. The town is comprised of three parts connected by a system of internal and external fortifications, including towers and city gates, incorporating elements of Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance styles.
